Our Story
Our history dates back to 1907, when the merchant Max von Engel during his train journey noticed how sparks from the steam locomotive chimney set to fire luggages ready for transport on the platform in Lucerne. This gave him the idea to deal with similar cases by means of insurance. The same year, the first specialised insurance company was founded in Budapest.
In 1920, the European Joint Stock Company for the Insurance of Cargo and Luggage is founded in Prague. In 1947, the insurance company is nationalised. In 1992, the Danish insurance company Europaeiske Rejseforsikring establishes the European Travel Insurance Company and thus renews our interrupted tradition. In 2002, we launch our own assistance service EUROALARM, which then became Euro-Center, providing assistance services not only to Czech, but also to Slovak, Polish and other European clients.
In 1994, we became a member of the International Travel Insurance Association of Europe (ITIA), an association of specialized insurance companies throughout Europe.
In 2010 we became part of the international ERGO Group.

Economic Results
In 2023, we reached a turnover of CZK 1.343 billion with over a 1.54 million insured clients. That was the company's biggest business success ever. Compare to previous year we achieved 15% increase and even 34% increase compared to 2019, which was a record year in terms of travelling. This is as we estimate one-third share of the local travel insurance market.

Social Responsibility
Besides taking a care of you on travels we also like to participate in projects that have a positive impact on society. This is why we support local projects to help people in need like Linka bezpečí and Zdravotní klaun.
Our team also take a part on other beneficial activities. For instance, in 2023 our employees participated in cleaning and maintenance of the grounds of ZOO Tábor.

Na dovolené v Turecku manžel dostal mrtvici a musel být hospitalizován. Byl převezen na soukromou kliniku, kde mu byla poskytnuta péče. Nebyl mu doporučen let zpět v termínu, musel zůstat. Pojišťovna ERV předčila naše očekávání. Bohužel jsme neuměli Aj, neměli roaming, ani data. Lidé z ERV s námi komunikovali přes chat pro tyto případy. Náš skvělý delegát nás nechal zavolat, načež z ERV volali zpět na své náklady a vše se vyřešilo. Mohla jsem i zůstat na jejich náklady s manželem v Turecku, ale máme doma dceru, letěla jsem za ní. Manželovi nejen že proplatili pobyt v nenocnici, veškerá vyšetření, odlet mimo termín, ale zajistili i asistenci na cestu zpět a dovezli ho sanitou, která čekala v Praze, až domů. Proplatili veškeré výlohy, včetně hovorů do Turecka. A ještě nám poslali menší finanční kompenzaci za nevyuzitou dovolenou do pár dnů od podání žádosti. Nevím, zda ještě někdy někam poletíme, ale pokud ano, jedině s pojištěním od ERV. Děkujeme všem, kdo nám pomohl v nouzi. Byla jsem opravdu zoufalá a asistenti na telefonu 24/7 byli prostě neuskuteční! Manžel je relativně v pořádku a já šťastná. Děkujeme moc!
Velmi doporučuji pojištění u ERV. My jej měli přes naši cestovku na dovolenou v Egyptě. Jedna z nás měla na dovolené nečekané zdravotní komplikace a díky skvělé pomoci asistenční služby a zajištěné lékařské péči na klinice a v nemocnici v Hurghadě bylo vše vyřešeno s co nejmenšími problémy. Opravdu ochotní zástupci přes asistenční službu, se kterou jsme telefonicky jednali opakovaně na místě, i následná komunikace ohledně proplacení urgentních nákladů, které nám vznikly. Z důvodu špatného zdravotního stavu jsme nebyli puštěni na náš let zpět do ČR. Díky pomoci ERV byl však zajištěn i další nejbližší let na jejich náklady. Mockrát děkuji všem. Pokud váháte, tak rozhodně nemusíte a nechte se pojistit zde. Výběr špatné pojišťovny nestojí za zkaženou dovolenou a některé zdravotní problémy se nedají předvídat. Doporučujeme.
Skvělý přístup, po vytočení zákaznické linky téměř okamžitě zvednutý telefon. Na druhé straně aparátu velmi příjemná paní. Zaevidovala se mnou zdravotní komplikace u dcery, poradila, jak mám dále postupovat, nabízela zajištění lékařské pomoci (tu jsme naštěstí nepotřebovali). Po návratu z dovolené vše velmi rychle vyřízeno a proplaceno.
Velmi lidský přístup při likvidaci mé nepříjemné pojistné události. Příjemná komunikace s likvidátorkou, vše řádně vysvětleno (opakovaně). Po dodání dokumentů vše rychle posouzeno a ukončeno. Děkuji.
Nemohly jsme odletět na dovolenou z velice závažných zdravotních důvodů,které u nás nastaly týden před dovolenou. Začali jsme hned komunikovat s pojistovnou, a vše do 3. týdnů vyřízeno a peníze nám vrátili.
